Heidi Klum Recounts Riptide Rescue

Heidi Klum shares her account of that daring rescue of her son from a dangerous riptide with INSIDE EDITION.

Heidi Klum is talking about the terrifying moment a riptide dragged her son into the ocean in Hawaii.

She told INSIDE EDITION, “A wave came and took them into the water. One second he was fine, the next second he was tumbling in the water.”

That's when the supermodel turned into supermom and ran to the rescue.

She said, “He was fine. Four seconds, boom! I grabbed him, I had him.”

She says seven-year-old Henry remained calm because she has prepared him for emergencies in the water.

Klum said, “I think it's important for parents to do these kind of things to make sure your kid knows how to react, that you know how to react, but they really, they need to learn how to swim.”

INSIDE EDITION caught up with Klum in New York City where she's taping her first season as a judge on America’s Got Talent.

She joins Howard Stern, Howie Mandel, and new judge Mel B of the Spice Girls.

Mel B told INSIDE EDITION, "I am just going to be honest, I am not going to mince my words."
