Beyonce and Jay-Z's Cuba Trip Under Fire

American travel to Cuba is illegal under certain circumstances. So, how did Beyonce and Jay-Z get to go while celebrating their wedding anniversary? INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

Beyonce and Jay-Z's high-profile vacation in Cuba to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary is causing more fallout today.

The issue: was it a U.S.-sanctioned cultural exchange mission?

U.S. citizens are banned from traveling to Cuba merely for tourism. But the Treasury Department reportedly granted the power couple a license to visit the communist country for cultural purposes.

In Florida, some lawmakers are crying foul.

Republican Florida Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said, "It shouldn't be one rule for Sally Smith and another for Beyonce. The rules and the law are for everybody and no one is above the law."

Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio said in a statement: "If true, the Obama Administration should explain exactly how trips like these comply with U.S. law and regulations governing travel to Cuba."

The White House is staying out of it. Jay Carney said at a press conferene, "Decisions made about cultural travel and academic travel are made by the Treasury Department. And i would refer you for specific cases to the Treasury Deptarment."
