Jerry Lewis Doesn't Like Women Doing Comedy

At an appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, Jerry Lewis sparked controversy when he boldy stated that he doesn't like it when women do comedy. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

Ladies are not happy with Jerry Lewis today after he told reporters that female comics are just not funny.

The 87-year-old legend was at the Cannes Film Festival promoting his new movie, Max Rose, his first acting role in 18 years.

When a reporter asked him who his favorite female comic was, that's when Lewis got wacky.

"My favorite female comedienne was Cary Grant and Burt Reynolds," said Lewis.

He got big laughs from the room. But then he gave his real answer about his favorite female comics: "I don't have any!"

That's right—Jerry Lewis does not find women comics funny.

Really Jerry? How about Tina Fey, Amy Poehler or Melissa McCarthy? Most people think they're hilarious, but not Jerry Lewis.

He went on to say, "I can't see women doing that. It bothers me."

Needless to say, women were quick to hit back.

One tweeted: "Jerry Lewis doesn't think women are funny. Most women don't think Jerry Lewis is alive."
