Are Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters Feuding?

Are tensions brewing between Whoopi Goldberg and Barbara Walters behind-the-scenes at The View? INSIDE EDITION has the story.

Are Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg having a feud?

Whoopi is adamantly denying reports that a catfight erupted when the ladies of  The View  were discussing the birth of little Prince George.

Whoopi made no secret of her disinterest in the story of the royal baby.

She said, "People have been watching the door, waiting to see, I guess the baby is supposed to walk out or something. I don't know cause I don't care!"

To which Barbara Walters responded, "They may not care, but we're doing an hour special tonight. Ok!”.

Sherri Shepherd asked,  “We're doing an hour special on the baby?”

“Yeah, and I think, people, they do care!” Walters responded.

Goldberg continued,  “Yes, a lot of people care. I don't care personally."

The tense on-air moment on Tuesday’s show continued as Barbara promoted her ABC special which was airing that night.

Walters said, "I would really like to talk about tonight. Whoopi will not be watching. We hope you will. We hope there are a lot of people who give a damn. Ok!"

According to the New York Daily News, the tiff allegedly escalated backstage when the show was over. The paper quoted Whoopi as saying, “I can't wait till she retires."

When the report hit the New York Daily News, Howard Stern jumped on it, saying the two women didn't seem to get along when he appeared on The View last year.

Stern said,  “I think Whoopi can't stand Barbara Walters.”

Now, Whoopi is adamantly denying that she ever said she can't wait for Barbara to retire. She was so upset about the article that she called the Daily News and said, “Who the [expletive] told you this? That would not have come out of my mouth! Dude, she hired me. It is a very good relationship."

A tense on-air moment both women would clearly like to put behind them.
