Actor Gary Coleman has passed away at the age of 42 after suffering an intracranial hemorrhage at his home in Utah. INSIDE EDITION has more.
Actor Gary Coleman has passed away. The stunning news comes two days after the actor was rushed to a hospital with a brain hemorrhage. He slipped into a coma and died Friday afternoon.
A statement released by Utah valley regional hospital said Coleman "suffered an intracranial hemorrhage at his home in Utah."
The statement went on to say that the Diff'rent Strokes actor was conscious and lucid on May 27th but started "slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened."
"We are saddened to announce that since mid-afternoon [May 27th] Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support."
The troubled actor had been dogged with poor health his entire life. In February he limped into an interview with INSIDE EDITION after suffering a seizure in a Los Angeles hotel room and falling.
"I've had seizures before and I'll probably have them again," he said.
Coleman suffered from acute kidney disease, which was the cause of his stunted growth. He had two kidney transplants and had dialysis every day.
In January, he needed a wheelchair after a full day in jail in connection with a domestic violence arrest.
Coleman had a rocky relationship with his much-younger and much-taller wife Shannon Price. She was keeping vigil by his bedside and had appealed to his fans for their prayers:
"At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery."
Sadly, he did not recover.
