Oscar winner Anne Hathaway was rescued by a surfer from a dangerous riptide in Hawaii. INSIDE EDITION has the details.
Actress Anne Hathaway gets the scare of her life during a vacation in Hawaii.
She found herself caught in a dangerous ripcurrent, being pulled out to sea. Photos revealed the panic on her face as she screamed for help. She also waved her arms signaling for help. Thank goodness a surfer was nearby, heard her cries, and paddled out to her rescue.
Once she was pulled to shore, she lay exhausted on the beach on the island of Oahu. Apparently, she cut her her foot on a reef during the mishap. Her husband, jewelry designer Adam Shulman comforted her and tended to her injury. Shulman cleaned her cut and bandaged it up after getting a first aid kit from the hotel staff. He did a good job and he even kissed it to make it better.
The waters off Hawaii can be deceivingly treacherous. You'll recall that last April, supermodel Heidi Klum turned into supermom when her seven-year-old son, Henry, was pulled under by a rogue wave.
So what should you do if you find yourself caught in a rip current? First, remain calm. Try to conserve energy and do not fight the current. Next, swim across the current, parallel to the shoreline. Once you're out of the current, swim back to shore.
