Did Julia Roberts' Half-Sister Take Her Own Life?

A shocking claim is being made that Julia Roberts' half-sister, Nancy, took her own life to hurt the actress' chances of winning an Oscar. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

Julia Roberts' tortured half-sister killed herself in a deliberate attempt to hurt the actress' chances of winning an Oscar next month. That's the shocking claim being made by the brother of Nancy Motes' fiancé in an interview with The Daily Mail.

Julia is up for best supporting actress for August: Osage County.

The fiancé’s brother lashed out at Julia on his Facebook page, which included a photo of Nancy getting engaged on the set of Glee. She worked on the show as a production assistant.

“Nancy Motes, was driven to take her life because of the pure cruelty of her sister, Julia Roberts (Yes Ms. Pretty Woman herself)," wrote Conner Dilbeck, brother of Nancy’s fiancé John Dilbeck.

Conner went on to accuse Julia of doing: "Everything in her power to ruin her and my brothers' lives. He is overwhelmed by this horrible event and all the turmoil Julia has subjected them too."

Nancy lived with her fiancé in a modest two-bedroom apartment in Santa Monica. They rented it for less than $1,500 a month.

Apartment manager John Frascati told INSIDE EDITION, "The last time I saw her, I said, 'Hey Nancy! How is John? How are you guys doing?' It was Friday afternoon. She was like, 'Family.' There was just not a good look on her face. I think she was obviously having family problems."

Meanwhile, Radar Online reports that Nancy was battling drug addiction and Julia tried many times to get her into rehab.

Julia and Nancy share the same mother, Betty Lou Motes, who was photographed looking shaken as she arrived at Julia’s Malibu mansion on Tuesday.
