Hollywood Takes Over the Tony Awards

The Tony Awards were invaded by Hollywood as big screen stars took home awards on theatre's big night in New York. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop from behind-the-scenes.

It was a Hollywood invasion at the Tony awards.

"I've always wanted to be on Broadway since I was a little girl, to be here tonight is a dream come true. I'm deeply honored and so humbled," said Scarlett Johansson.

INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander caught up with Scarlet Johansson, and Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliff, who took the time to sign autographs for fans.

"You created a frenzy with your fans," said Alexander.

"I know. You can always count on New York fans to make a lot of noise. It's fantastic," said Radcliff.

The moment everyone was waiting for was Will and Jada Smith taking over the Tonys. Inside, the Hollywood takeover continued.

Katie Holmes towered over Daniel Radcliff as they presented the award for Best Featured Actress in a Play, which went to Scarlet Johansson.

When Johansson goes up to collect her award, she forgot to kiss her husband Ryan Reynolds, but quickly turned back to give him a smooch.

Denzel Washington took home the award for Best Leading Actor in a Play and Catherine Zeta-Jones won for Best Leading Actress in a Musical.

Zeta-Jones cracked everyone up with her thank you to her husband Michael Douglas, saying, "That man is a movie star and I get to sleep with him every night."

And Paula Abdul came out to present an award. She was excited to tell INSIDE EDITION who designed her dress, saying, "The designer is Tony Ward, as for the Tony Awards. Is that amazing? That's called something's going on in the universe!"
