They're getting a divorce, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are calling it a 'conscious uncoupling.' INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
What the heck is conscious uncoupling?
That's what Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are calling the end of their marriage. Conscious uncoupling is straight out of the New Age movement. It was created by Paltrow's lifestyle gurus, Dr. Habib Sadeghi and his wife Dr. Sherry Sami and emphasizes "coming together" in the midst of a legal divorce.
Paltrow is so close to Sadeghi that she introduced him at an event in Los Angeles and wrote the forward to his most recent book.
Dr. Habib Sadeghi and his wife work out of a clinic in Los Angeles. It's the center of New Age medicine that the doctor likes to call a "beehive of healing."
The big "conscious uncoupling" announcement came on Gwyneth Paltrow's website, goop.com. Interest was so high, the website crashed.
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," the statement said. "We have been working hard for well over a year to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner."
E! News correspondent Alicia Quarles told INSIDE EDITION, "She's saying that we are two adults. We're going to do this together. We're going to do this the right way, and amicably."

Headlines are now asking whether this is "the most civilized split ever?" The Oscar winner and Coldplay frontman were marrried for 10 years and have two children, 9-year-old Apple and 7-year-old Moses. They all just vactioned together on the exclusive island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas.
But even they may not be able to void the realities of divorce.
There is a fortune estimated at $140 million to divide, and their homes include a new $14 million mansion in Malibu.
Kelly Chang Rickert, family attorney told INSIDE EDITION, "Even if you have a couple on friendly terms, such as Chris and Gwyneth, dividing up assets in the divorce could be a headache. To make things easier, they can opt to hire a private judge who will sit them down and help them make a list and help them divide up things that are most important to them."
Paltrow recently denied rumors that she'd cheated on Martin with supermodel Elle Macpherson's billionaire husband, Jeff Soffer, and top entertainment lawyer Kevin Yorn. She was also photographed kissing an ex-boyfriend, actor Donavan Leitch at an LA Dodgers game. Her rep called the cheating rumors, "categorically untrue."
Quarles told INSIDE EDITION, "There's been rumors for years that they've been on the rocks. In the past, she's always denied them and said, 'No, we're a happy couple. This is ridiculous.' "
Meanwhile, the couple's star power shows no sign of diminishing. Martin is a new mentor on The Voice, and just last night, Gwyneth made another sexy appearance on glee.
