George Clooney Does Not Accept 'Daily Mail' Apology

George Clooney is refusing to accept the Daily Mail's apology for a story that claimed his soon-to-be mother-in-law was opposed to the upcoming marriage. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.

George Clooney is not one to forgive and forget!

The actor is refusing to accept the Daily Mail's apology for a story claiming his fiancée’s mother is opposed to their upcoming marriage.

In a new op-ed, posted early Friday morning on USA Today's website, Clooney wrote: "The Mail knew the story in question was false and printed it anyway. By their own admission, it can be proved to be a lie. In fact, a premeditated lie. So I thank the Mail for its apology. Not that I would ever accept it, but because in doing so they've exposed themselves as the worst kind of tabloid."

The Daily Mail article claimed that Clooney’s mother-in-law to-be was against the wedding for "religious reasons" and wanted her daughter, human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, "To marry within their strict Lebanese religious sect" an offshoot of Islam called Druze.

After Clooney slammed the story, the Daily Mail removed it from its website and issued this apology: "We accept Mr. Clooney's assurance that the story is inaccurate and we apologize to him, Miss Amal Alamuddin and her mother for any distress caused."

Apology not accepted!
