The civil ceremony, required by Italian law, lasted about 10 minutes and cost about $760.

It's the culmination of an amazing weekend.

What a party it was. ABC News' Lama Hasan was covering the wedding. She told INSIDE EDITION, "There was a wedding here. There was a Hollywood wedding here and with this backdrop, which isn't a bad backdrop at all. It couldn't have been scripted any better."

The festivities began Friday. George Clooney and his bride-to-be celebrated their rehearsal dinner at the Hotel Cipriani.  Amal immediately became an overnight fashion sensation. She arrived for the dinner wearing a dramatic red and black gown by Alexander McQueen.

Italian journalist Federica Pirchio told INSIDE EDITION, “She was wearing a beautiful red dress.  People are talking about her like she's the new Jackie Kennedy.”

After dinner, George enjoyed his last hours as a single man with his close pals. They reportedly drank two bottles of Casamigos – George’s own brand of tequila.

They exchanged vows on on Saturday. He made his grand entrance on the Grand Canal wearing a custom-made tuxedo by Armani. Guests were ferried around in speed boats marked "A.G." for Amal and George. His boat had just one word, “Amore,” which is Italian for love.

Hasan told INSIDE EDITION, "Everybody wants to know everything about this wedding. I think it is because, let's not forget, he is the world's most eligible bachelor. He did say he never wanted to get married."

George and his family arrived for the ceremony at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande hotel just before sundown. George waved to the crowd and even playfully rubbed his hands together.

The A-list guests included supermodel Cindy Crawford who was there with her husband Rande Gerber, who also served as Best Man. Matt Damon and his wife, and Emily Blunt and her husband, John Krasinski, were there. Bill Murray waved to the crowds as he cruised by. Also in attendance was Vogue magazine's Anna Wintour.

Singer Bono called the ceremony "Very emotional and lovely.” Then, it was time to party with 200 guests chowing down on a five course feast of lobster, risotto, sea bass and beef.

Amal's wedding gown is shrouded in secrecy and was reportedly designed by Oscar de la Renta. The only photo of Amal from the evening shows her wearing a shimmery silver fringed party dress.

The festivities went through the night, finally breaking up near sunrise at 5 a.m. One of the guests even lost his shirt during the party.

On Sunday, the newlyweds made their first post-wedding appearance as an official couple. Amal looked radiant in a long-sleeve lace dress. The high-low hemline showed off her toned legs. INSIDE EDITION also caught a glimpse of their rings. They were simple, yet elegant wedding bands.

Hasan told INSIDE EDITION, "We have all seen that engagement ring. I mean, that bling, you can't really miss it. In contrast, her wedding ring is quite modest."

On Monday, after making their marriage official the couple took their water taxi straight to the airport ready to begin their long life as husband and wife.
