Eerie New Film Role for Stephen Collins - He Plays a Child Molester

Is this an eerie instance of life imitating art? Stephen Collins’ new film role has him portraying a child molester. INSIDE EDITION has details.

Actor Stephen Collins is playing, get this, a child molester.

The movie is called Penance and it's being shown at film festivals across America.

In the wake of Collins' alleged taped confession that he molested young girls, it could be the last role he ever plays.

“She was 11 and then, like, 12 and 13,” says Collins on the tape.

Ron Truppa, director of the Catalina Film Festival said,  "He plays a priest that is a pedophile."

The festival showcased the movie before news of Collins' alleged confession hit the headlines.

“As the news started to break, chills kind of went up our spine and the hairs stood up on the back of our neck,” said Truppa.

Penance is just 11 minutes in length and it was shot in just one day. In the movie, Collins is forced to confront his victims in a way he never expected.

"It gives you goose bumps just kind of knowing what's going on right now," concluded Truppa.
