The 11-year-old actress read a book to a crowd of kids at the Children's Museum in New York on Wednesday and of course her faithful movie dog Sandy was at her side!

Alexander asked, "What was it like to work with Sandy?'

"It was fun, she was trained really well. I love her so, so much." she said.

You'll recall the debut she made in Beasts of the Southern Wild. She was only six years old when it was filmed. At age 9, she became the youngest person ever nominated for a best actress Oscar for her role in that film.

In Annie, Cameron Diaz plays the cruel Miss Hannigan, who runs the orphanage. Jamie Foxx plays the rich guy  who's running for Mayor of New York and takes little orphan Annie under his wing.

Alexander asked, "What was it like working with them?"

Wallis said, "Jamie Foxx was really fun and nice. Cameron Diaz was also really nice and was like a mom to me."

It's not easy to star in a movie and keep up with your school work.

Alexander asked, "What are your favorite and least favorite subjects?"

"My favorite subject is science, and the subject I'm not good at is art. I'm not very good at drawing,” she said.

But, she sure can sing!
