She consoled a sobbing Jose Canseco during a shocking time of his life. The former baseball star accidentally shot his finger off, four weeks ago. His fiancée, Leila Knight, was right there for him.
But now Knight is telling INSIDE EDITION she's calling off the engagement. She said she fled their house after a terrible argument.
Knight said, “I've never seen him so angry and aggressive and it just escalated and escalated. He went into a room and kept saying very loudly that he was going to kill me and he was going to kill my mom. He probably said it at least 20 times. I locked the door that he was in cause I was scared and I went in the bathroom and I called the cops."
INSIDE EDITION’s Diane McInerney asked her, “You were afraid for your life?”
Knight responded, “I was afraid for my life. I didn't know what was going to happen. It was probably roid rage.”
Canseco famously admitted he used steroids during his 17-year career in major league baseball.
McInerney asked, “You say it was probably roid rage. Do you believe he's doing steroids?"
Knight said, “He is doing steroids, I mean, obviously not what he was doing before when he played baseball."
Knight read McInerney texts she says Canseco has sent her since their big fight, saying, “He kept texting me saying, 'Do you love me? Do you love me?' and then he said, 'I feel in love with you the first time I ever saw you.' ”
Canseco says he called off the engagement and denies he made any threats, saying he'll take a polygraph test to prove it.
Knight said, "The polygraph, I mean, go for it. take a polygraph."
