Birdman Can't Fly! Michael Keaton Falls Off Stage At Critics Choice Awards

Michael Keaton may be getting awards as Birdman, but he learned the hard way, he can't fly. The star took a tumble after receiving a prize at the Critics’ Choice Awards. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

At Thursday night's Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Michael Keaton won Best Actor for Birdman, however, cameras didn't catch it but after his speech, he took a tumble falling four feet off the stage. He re-enacted it backstage looking a little wobbly.

He told the press room, “I did have quite an evening, including falling off the stage.”

According to one report, Keaton landed in the arms of actor Ethan Hawke. Keaton even had a bandage put on his thumb, he really hurt himself.

Another big moment everyone is talking about is Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie appearing together at the same event for the first time in six years.

They hit the red carpet just minutes apart.

Aniston arrived first wearing a daring crimson Gucci pant suit. She walked the carpet arm and arm with her fiancé Justin Theroux. Then, 10 minutes later, Jolie appeared, minus Brad Pitt.

Inside the event, Jolie and Aniston sat far apart on opposite sides of the stage.

Michael Strahan hosted the show at the Hollywood Palladium. He got things started with a sexy strip tease to promote his upcoming film, Magic Mike XXL.

All the buzz on the red carpet was about the lack of diversity in the Oscar nominations that were announced earlier in the day. All 20 nominated actors and actresses are white. It's the least diverse group of nominees since 1998.

Carmen Ejogo, who plays Coretta Scott King, thought David Oyelowo and Selma’s director Ava Duvernay should have been nominated.

She told INSIDE EDITION, “I would have loved to have seen David and Ava get a nomination too, for their work on this film.”

Jessica Chastain alluded to the controversy on stage, saying, "Today is Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, so, it got me thinking about our need to build the strength of diversity in our industry.”

Her remarks touched Oprah who could only say “Wow.”

The late night comics turned the controversy into a punchline.

Jimmy Fallon joked, "They are so white that Matthew McConaughey said, 'All white, all white, all white.'"
