SNL Reunion - Heartbreak You Didn't See On TV

Everyone is still talking about the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special. INSIDE EDITION takes a look at some of the behind-the-scenes heartbreaking moments you didn't see on TV.

There was heartbreak behind-the-scenes at the historic Saturday Night Live reunion show.

Stricken comedian Tracy Morgan, who was critically injured in a horrific car crash last year, was supposed to make a dramatic comeback during Sunday’s live telecast, but was forced to bail out.

"When it came down to it, he just isn't mentally or emotionally ready to appear on TV yet," the New York Post reported.

Instead, Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, his co-stars from 30 Rock, paid tribute to the beloved comic.

Fey said, "I wish my friend Tracy Morgan was here tonight and he had hoped he would have been well enough to be here too."

Baldwin exclaimed, "See you at the 41st, Tracy!"

Fey then said, "We love you!"

It was also an emotional night for Chris Farley’s brother, Kevin. It would have been Chris' 51st birthday.

Kevin saw Melissa McCarthy’s show-stopping tribute to Chris where she reprised his iconic character, motivational speaker Matt Foley.

Returning to Los Angeles, Kevin said he loved the moment, “Melissa McCarthy did a great job, yeah!"

And it was also a poignant night for the 22-year-old daughter of Phil Hartman. In 1998, the SNL star was murdered by his third wife who also killed herself.

Birgen Hartman attended the 40th anniversary show with her fiancé and tweeted: "A huge thank you to everyone who made the night so special for us!"
