Puppies Found In Taped Box Marked 'Stuff Animals'

They were taped inside a box and left outside on an 85 degree day.

A Good Samaritan came across a taped up box marked 'Stuff Animals' outside of a Goodwill donation center in Chattanooga, and noticed the box was moving. When she opened the box, she discovered three puppies inside.

The puppies were covered in urine and in pretty bad shape in the 85 degree heat, trapped inside the box. The woman rushed them to the McKamey Animal Shelter nearby. The puppies are estimated to be nine to 12 weeks old.

Animal service officer Leslie Stokes is investigating the case, trying to find out who would abandon these adorable puppies in such a cruel way.

Stokes said, "We have dozens of leads coming in from Tennessee and Georgia. It happened in the middle of the day, so someone had to see something. We are trying to get surveillance video from someone at Goodwill to see if there were any cars that pulled in."

The Goodwill attendant on duty at the time had no idea about the box because it wasn’t brought inside, but placed outside and not next to the donation trailer.

The shelter named the pups Greta Garbo, Bette Davis and Marilyn Monroe.  After 48 hours of some healthy food and water, they began to act like puppies again and have stolen a lot of hearts. Several people have offered to adopt the trio.

There’s a $4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever abandoned the puppies.
