Family Trapped in Texas Home Shares the Horror as the Blanco River Floods Living Room

Sarah Perez captured video as a river burst through her house, swirling appliances and her belongings as she and her husband waited to be rescued.

Raging floodwater burst into a house as a terrified family was trapped upstairs!

They watched helplessly as the water rose towards them. The amazing video has gone viral, but everyone wants to know what happened to the family.

Good news, INSIDE EDITION found Ernie and Sarah Perez safe and sound. They were rescued from their flooded holiday home near Austin, Texas.

"I just felt trapped. I really felt trapped," said Sarah.

Sarah kept her cell phone camera rolling as the Blanco River burst its banks and roared into their living room.

She added, "It's like I was in shock. I couldn't believe what was happening. I was going 'how in the world are we going to get out of here?'"

The deluge sounded like an express train as it rushed through the house picking up furniture, toys, and everything else.

Ernie said in the video, "We're okay, honey. We're okay, alright?"

"You guys keep saying that, but look at the house!" Sarah said frantically.

Ernie told INSIDE EDITION, "Everything in that bottom story swirled around like a washing machine and then washed out the door in a matter of seconds."

The family was rescued by boat. When they returned, they found their vacation home in ruins.

The loss of life and property has been historic. More than 20 people have died in the torrential storms in Texas and Oklahoma, and all their stories are heartbreaking.
