Donald Trump Faces Backlash for Calling Mexican Immigrants Rapists

Donald Trump's big presidential bid has everyone talking and some feel his race to The White House is a publicity stunt.

Say one thing about Donald Trump - he sure has people talking!

Trump is enraging many people with his remarks about Mexican immigrants. He said at his press conference on Tuesday, "They are bringing drugs. They are bringing crime. They are rapists and some I assume, are good people."

On Fox and Friends, Trump spoke about the controversy, saying, "If it is good for me or bad for me, I don't think of that. I think of saying the right thing and people have to be alerted to the fact that we are getting some really bad characters coming into this country."

He was also asked about his stunning comment yesterday that he wanted Oprah as his running mate. He said, “I do it kiddingly and all of a sudden they say, 'Oh, Donald wants Oprah!”

Trump's declaration that he's really running for the Republican nomination was the hot topic at the amFAR awards event on Tuesday night.

Andy Cohen told INSIDE EDITION, “I think he's like P.T. Barnum but he's fun to watch.”

Sandra Bernhard said, “I don't think he is all that serious or cares that much about the American working person."

CNN’s Don Lemon couldn’t hold back his bemusement and laughed at the notion of Trump’s bid live on-air.

But others say it's a big mistake to underestimate Trump. Among them is Business Executive Carly Fiorina, who's running against him. She said on CNN, “I think he is hitting on issues Americans care about.”

And Sarah Palin says "Mr. Trump should know he's doing something right when the malcontents go ballistic in the press!"

According to a new poll in the crucial state of Iowa, almost 55% of voters think Trump's candidacy is a publicity stunt. But more than 45% think he's serious.

The Daily News, clearly not fans of Trump, showed him in bozo makeup with the headline "Clown Runs For Prez."

The New York Post imagines he'd erect a "Trump" sign over The White House.

Naturally, the late-night comics are going nuts.

Jimmy Fallon joked, "Trump has announced he is running for president and he is wasting no time getting down to business. He has already demanded to see Jeb Bush's birth certificate."

Trump also seems to have upset singer Neil Young by playing "Rockin' In The Free World."

A spokesman for Neil Young says, "Donald Trump was not authorized to use 'Rockin' In The Free World.' Neil Young is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for president." A spokesperson for Trump said that he will not be using Neil Young's song anymore on the campaign trail.

Trump has reportedly copyrighted his "Make America Great Again" slogan.
