Fresh DNA was found in a cabin near Owls Head, N.Y., just 30 miles from the New York prison where they escaped from, indicating they were there within the last 24 hours.

A hunter reported that his cabin had been broken into and found a jug of water and a jar of peanut butter on a table in the hunting cabin. Boots and bloodied socks were also found.

The owner of the cabin reportedly spotted a man running out the back

The focus of the search was on Friendship, N.Y., 350 miles south of the prison, where a woman reported seeing two men matching their description walking beside the railroad tracks. But that report is now being discounted and the search is targeting the Adirondecks

Four additional corrections officers are under investigation for allegedly helping them escape. One officer, Gene Palmer, has been placed on administrative leave.
