Miranda Lambert broke down in tears live on stage just days before she and Blake Shelton announced their split.
In a statement on Monday, the country music superstars said they are getting divorced after four years of marriage.
Just days before, Miranda was filmed wiping away tears as she performed on stage at the Lambert’s Cheyenne Frontier Days concert in Wyoming.
During her performance of her smash song, “The House That Built Me,” she said: "The last thing anybody wants to do is cry in front of 19,000 people."
A source told People magazine: “She’s doing the best she can and taking it day by day.”
Lambert, 31, and Shelton, 39, announced their split on Monday in a heartbreaking joint statement.
"This is not the future we envisioned," they said. "And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately."
Blake apparently filed for divorce several months ago, but the papers were not disclosed until Monday.
Reporting from Nashville, INSIDE EDITION’s Megan Alexander said that no one is surprised by the news.
"These two are at the top of their careers, but they never see each other," she said. "They're so busy. And the last time I interviewed Miranda Lambert on the red carpet, I remember being very unhappy and appearing very unhappy."
The couple has no children, but there is said to be a prenup. They own a ranch in Oklahoma where the divorce was filed.
Blake and Miranda were country royalty. Their loving duets charmed fans. But behind the scenes things were strained. Blake was often in Los Angeles taping The Voice and Miranda got a lot of attention for slimming down in recent months and sexing up her cutie-pie country image.
Since they married, rumors emerged suggesting Blake was unfaithful, but a source close to Blake tells People: "Blake is just that incredibly loyal and dedicated husband. I can guarantee you he has been faithful to that woman. He hasn't cheated ever.”
