CrossFit Guru Apologizes After Performing a Handstand on a Holocaust Memorial

A CrossFit Guru is saying he is sorry for taking a picture of himself doing a handstand the Holocaust memorial in Berlin.

A CrossFit guru is doing damage control after he posted a photo on Instagram showing him performing a handstand on a Holocaust memorial in Berlin.

Dave Driskill wrote alongside the photo: “Hello Berlin, Germany. 15 hour layover. Checking the sites. Drinking the beers. Eating the bratwurst.”

The image shows him on the concrete blocks at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.

Commenters immediately criticized him for the stunt.

One wrote: “You don’t find this in the least bit offensive to be doing such a thing on a Holocaust memorial?”

“Mate, that is so insensitive and makes you look really dumb. I would delete this post,” said another.

Driskill claims he didn’t realize it was a Holocaust memorial and simply found it "visually stunning."

He eventually took the photo off Instagram and apologized, saying: "I feel completely terrible as I would never purposely offend or disrespect this memorial had I known.”
