Authorities: Woman Had Sex With 14-Year-Old Boy She Met Online, Wanted to Have Kids With Him

Jennifer Lynn Dougherty, 34, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenager she met while playing Xbox games online.

A Wisconsin woman was arrested for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old boy she met while playing Xbox games online.

Jennifer Lynn Dougherty, 34, was allegedly found trying to fly to Wisconsin from Dallas Love Field Airport with the boy, who had gone missing from his Garland, Texas home four days earlier.

She was charged on Friday with transporting a minor across state lines with the intent of engaging in criminal sexual activity.

Investigators searching for the boy discovered he had entered into romantic and sexual relationship with Dougherty and that they intended to have children together, according to a criminal complaint cited by GazetteXtra.

The duo allegedly met through online gaming using the Xbox360 game console.

Last week, the teen allegedly lied to his parents that he was visiting friends to play online games, but when he did not return home, they alerted police.

Detectives examined his gaming system and found that from August 24 to August 28, he had sexual conversations with "xXJennLynn81Xx." Their conversations allegedly showed that she knew the boy was underage, the court documents said.

Dallas police stopped the pair at Dallas Love Field Airport, according to the complaint. Prosecutors allege that during the four days he was missing, Dougherty flew to Dallas and had sex with the boy at a hotel. They then both traveled to Wisconsin where they continued sexual relations, the Associated Press reported.

She reportedly told the boy to turn off his cellphone so their location could not be tracked, the complaint said.

The boy was returned to his family and police arrested Dougherty, who allegedly admitted she was xXJennLynn81Xx and said that she met the boy in November 2014, GazetteXtra wrote.

She reportedly told police that the boy was her "guardian angel" and "looked out for her," as she suffered from depression, the news site detailed.

If convicted, Dougherty faces between 10 years and a life sentence, a $250,000 and a lifetime supervised release.

She remains in custody, officials at the United States District Court in Dallas said Friday. Her next court date has not yet been set.
