Human Skulls Found at California Home

Forensic anthropologists are hard at work trying to determine where three human skulls came from after they were found at a California home, officials said Wednesday.

Huntington Beach police officers serving a warrant in connection to a robbery made the initial discovery at a home in Palmdale, finding the first of three skulls inside a small building that may have served as a shed on the property, police and a spokesman with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office said to INSIDE EDITION.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department and the coroner’s office responded to the scene, discovering the other two skulls, Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.

The skulls appeared to be adult-sized, but official determinations will be made by anthropologists who are working to conclude if the bones are ancient or from a recent time period, he continued.

A forensic analysis will be done to also determine if there was any foul play, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

White noted the bones were found near an altar and shrine and could be connected to practices in line with the religion Santeria.
