A 20-pound French bulldog named Jules managed to scare off three bears that wandered onto the property of her home in Monrovia, California.
The determined dog's owner, David Hernandez, captured the moment on his home's surveillance cameras and posted the footage online.
One of the bears was so terrified it hopped over the fence.
David told KCBS that he was surprised how fearless his pup was with the bears.
“She wasn’t having it, you’re not coming in to her property,” he said.
Bears, along with deer and other wildlife, are common in the area and David said he isn’t taking chances with any more encounters.
He told KCBS that his daughter’s bedroom window is boarded up to prevent bears from trying to get in. But while he is taking every precaution, he knows his home is protected by Jules.
“She blew me away, couldn’t believe that she turned into a Wolverine,” he said.
He told INSIDE EDITION: "This is like the elephant and the mouse. They don’t know what to make of it. It’s like, ‘Are you really doing this?’”
He also said that he belives Jules was protecting the people in the house and felt the bear was invaiding her space.
