President Obama Likens Republican Lawmakers to Grumpy Cat

While addressing the crowd at the Democratic National Committee's Women's Leadership Forum, Obama compared GOPers to the internet's favorite cat.

President Obama says that Republican lawmakers are so gloomy these days they're reminding him of Grumpy Cat.

While addressing the Democratic National Committee's Women's Leadership Forum on Friday, the president reached deep into his knowledge of internet pop culture to name-check the world famous cat, whose signature sour demeanor has won her millions of adoring fans.

He even did an impression of the famous feline, the Associated Press reports.

"Everything is terrible," said Obama, delivering one of the cat's imagined favorite phrases along with his well-known scowl.

The jab was one of several Obama aimed at the opposing party while addressing the crowd of 500.

"You've gotta feel bad for the fact-checkers for the Republicans," Obama noted, "’cause they've got to spend hours trying to keep up with some of the crazy stuff that their candidates are claiming.”
