'Appalled' Latino Groups Urge NBC to Cancel Donald Trump's 'SNL' Appearance

The GOP presidential hopeful is scheduled to host the show on November 7.

NBC is facing growing pressure to cancel Donald Trump’s upcoming appearance as host of Saturday Night Live.

The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda says it is "appalled" by what they call a "ratings ploy.”

Felix Sanchez, chairman of the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, told INSIDE EDITION: "NBC was saying they were going to sever their relationship with Donald Trump over the remarks he made about Mexican immigrants. Four months later, it turns out having him as a ratings bonanza is worth more than keeping their ethics.”

Online petitions against Trump appearing on SNL have gathered more than 370,000 signatures. Celebrities like actor John Leguizamo and comedian Margaret Cho have joined the social media protest.

Trump hosted SNL once before in 2004 and he joked about being a ratings machine, which is still true 11 years later.

The Tonight Show had its best Friday ratings in 18 months when Trump was on last month. Then, he delivered Stephen Colbert's Late Show its biggest ratings since its premiere.

NBC is declining to comment.

A just-released CBS News / New York Times national poll says Dr. Ben Carson is beating Trump in the race for the GOP nomination for the first time.

The poll says 26 percent of Republican voters now support Carson with Trump at 22 percent. Marco Rubio is third at eight percent.
