Months After He Died, 8-Year-Old Son's Photo Is Added to Mom's Wedding Image

The image of an 8-year-old boy, who died of cancer in May, is edited into his mom and step-dad's family wedding picture.

Eight-year-old Lake Bozman did not live to see his mother get married, but he was there in spirit - and now in a wedding photo as well, thanks to an ephemeral image of him that was edited into the picture.

The eerie photo has gone viral after photographer Brandy Angel posted it on Facebook, as did Lake's mom, Anna Bozman.

The young boy lost his battle with a rare form of leukemia in May. His mother married Lake's step-father, Travis Thompson, last month in Georgia. The couple's children, Trindon, 5, and Cambree, 2, are part of the family photo with Lake.

Bozman told INSIDE EDITION she knew all along what she wanted in her wedding photos.

It wouldn't be right if Lake wasn't in them. But  she wanted an image that was faded.

"I wanted people to see that he is an angel," she said. "I felt him all day."

She credits photographer Angel and a co-worker with pulling off her vision.

"They did such a good job," she said.

Angel told INSIDE EDITION she is honored to have shot the wedding, and is stunned by the amount of attention the family photograph has generated.

Late Monday, the image was a top-trending post on Facebook, ahead of Kim Kardashian and Jimmy Fallon items. "My faith in humanity is restored," she said, laughing.

Lake fought cancer with every ounce of strength he had. The Atlanta Hawks even signed him to a one-day contract.

"I miss him so much," she said.

"I'm sure some people look at it in a different way," she said of the photo. "To me, it's comforting.

"I felt his presence there. So for me, it was the right thing to do."
