NFL Legend Boomer Esiason Presents His High School Coach with a Golden Ball

Boomer Esiason returned to his high school to give a special gift to his former coach.

NFL Legend and CBS Sports commentator Boomer Esiason returned to his alma mater in Long Island, New York to present a special gift to his former coach. 

The football great received a thunderous welcome after surprising the student body at East Islip High School, where he was a star quarterback.

He was there to present a golden football to his former high school coach, Sal Champi.

“I have to admit, I got a little misty-eyed,” the legendary quarterback said.

To mark Super Bowl 50, golden footballs are being presented to high schools all over the country that have graduated players who went on to compete in the big game.

Esiason's former coach’s son, Sal Champi, Jr. is currently the head football manager of the high school team.
