A New York woman who shot herself in the head was declared dead by first responders, but investigators found she was still breathing an hour later, according to reports.

The 32-year-old woman, identified by the New York Daily News as Diana Rodriguez, was found in a pool of blood inside a Queens home Thursday after she told her boyfriend on the phone that she was going to kill herself.

With him still on the line, Rodriguez pulled the trigger of the rifle she had placed at her head, according to reports. The boyfriend, who was in Ohio, heard the gunshot and called the woman’s sister, who called police.

NYPD officers and EMTs from Jamaica Hospital responding to a 911 call of an emotionally disturbed woman, arrived at the home on 115th Street near 103rd Avenue around 9 a.m., cops said.

When they forced their way in, they found the woman on her left side with a gunshot wound to the head and a small caliber rifle lying nearby, officials said.

EMTs could not find a pulse on the woman and declared her dead at 9:34 a.m., police said.

But an NYPD patrol supervisor preparing the apartment for investigators heard gurgling noises and wheezing coming from the woman and called the EMTs back to the scene.

The same unit, backup units and an FDNY field supervisor returned to the home at 10:49 a.m. and Rodriguez was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition, the Daily News wrote.

She reportedly died about 8 p.m.

“It’s currently under investigation,” a spokesman with the hospital told INSIDE EDITION.

The two EMTs who wrongly declared Rodriguez dead have been pulled from the 911by the FDNY system pending an investigation of the incident, sources told the Daily News.

It is standard policy for the FDNY to restrict EMTs' patient access when they are under investigation, the paper wrote.
