Charlie Sheen to Make 'Personal Announcement' Following Reports He Has HIV

The actor will appear on the 'Today' show on Tuesday to make the 'revealing' announcement.

Actor Charlie Sheen says he will make a major announcement on the Today show on Tuesday.

According to a report that appeared in the National Enquirer, Sheen may be HIV positive.

It comes after rumors that a high-profile Hollywood actor with a string of ex-girlfriends had HIV. Following the reports, there were calls for the unnamed actor to come forward.

Sheen, 50, has admitted to using hard drugs and soliciting prostitutes. 

Sheen has had several public battles with ex-spouses, including actress Denise Richards, and the producers of his hit  TV show, "Two and A Half Men."

He was fired from the series in 2011.
