An American teenager has been killed in a terror attack in Israel’s West Bank, authorities said.
Ezra Schwartz, 18, of Massachusetts, was one of five people who died when a Palestinian gunman opened fire on cars stopped at a traffic light, according to Israeli officials.
Schwartz, who graduated from Maimonides School in 2015, was spending a year studying in Israel, Fox23 in Boston reported.
“The enter Maimonides School Community is profoundly saddened as we mourn the tragic loss of our recent graduate Ezra Schwartz,” the school said in a statement Thursday.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Ezra’s family, classmates and friends,” the statement said.
Schwartz was delivering care packages to Israeli soldiers when he was shot and killed, the station said.
