Pastor: I Don't Feel Like Forgiving My Wife's Suspected Killers

Davey Blackburn spoke to INSIDE EDITION as it emerged his wife's suspected killer watched her bleed to death.

The husband and father of Amanda Blackburn have spoken to INSIDE EDITION about the woman’s brutal murder as two men charged with her killing made their first court appearance.

“I don’t feel like forgiving. I feel like being angry, but that doesn’t lead to anything down the road,” said Pastor Davey Blackburn, whose wife was shot to death in their Indianapolis home.

She was 13 weeks pregnant.

Larry Jo Taylor, 18, and Jalen Watson, 21, have pleaded not guilty to the alleged home invasion attack.

According to newly released police documents, Taylor told investigators he shot Amanda when she charged at him. Then he leaned over her and shot her in the back of the head, according to the reports.

Blackburn and his grieving father-in-law said they haven’t taken in all of the horrific details.

“We’re trying to take it a day at a time and we know we’re going to have to get a little into those weeds in order to rise above them,” the widower said.

“But I just feel like if we took it all at once, it would crush us,” Blackburn said.

Amanda’s father, Phil Byars, said he remains focused on the good things about his daughter.

“I’m proud to be her dad. I’m proud of what she turned into. I’m proud of the woman that she was and the mother that she was,” he said.

“And that’s all I have to say.”
