The body of Kristin Cavallari’s missing brother has been found in a remote region of Utah, authorities said.
Michael Cavallari, who had been missing since Nov. 27, had left his car, with the motor running, on a desolate expanse near Arches National Park.
The 30-year-old California resident was last seen on surveillance footage at a gas station about 70 miles away, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.
His actress sister posted a photo on her Instagram account Thursday, along with a poignant note.
“My heart is in a million pieces, Mikey. I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I’m at a loss for words but I know you are in a better place and finally at peace."
Her brother had been arrested in Orange County, California, four days before he went missing, according to several reports.
He was taken into custody outside the Dana Point City Hall with a loaded shotgun.
Last year, he was sentenced to three years of probation following a DUI conviction.
Cavallari’s body was transported to the Utah Medical Examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
