Watch Quick-Thinking Bank Manager Thwart Armed Robber

Surveillance footage shows the manager keeping his cool when the masked man tried to enter the bank.

A bank manager who happened to be gazing out the window when a would-be robber headed towards him jumped into action to thwart the theft.

As surveillance footage shows, the manager of the PNC Bank in Zebulon, North Carolina kept his cool as the masked suspect ran towards him, holding the door shut and stopping him from entering.

"The suspect brandished a small black semi-automatic handgun which he began to use to strike the door," the police said in a press release. "The manager continued to hold the door shut as the suspect attempted to pull it open."

Unable to get in, the man fled from the bank.

Police released surveillance footage in case a member of the public recognizes him or saw him running from the scene after the incident on Thursday morning.

The bank is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.

Authorities say the suspect is a black male between 5'9 and 6' tall with a medium build. He was wearing dark pants, a dark hoodie with a gray shirt underneath, red scarf or bandanna, a light colored mask, gloves and black tennis shoes.
