A shocking story published on gawker.com about U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell is causing an uproar.
The story is accompanied by photos the writer took of O'Donnell in a ladybug costume on Halloween night three years ago.
He cropped himself out of the pictures, but the Republican candidate from Delaware can be seen laughing and nuzzling him, and in one he plants a kiss on her cheek.
The anonymous author says he was renting an apartment in Philadelphia from O'Donnell's aunt when the future candidate showed up unannounced, asked if she could change into her ladybug costume, and then invited him to go out drinking.
O'Donnell is 14 years older and he calls her a cougar who had her sights set on him from the very beginning.
"Christine was a decent kisser," he writes, but says after they went back to his apartment they didn't have sex because she "informed me that she was a virgin."
"This is certainly one of the nastier approaches that we've seen in the campaigns. Usually these things come from other candidates," says Politico's Beth Frerking.
O'Donnell's campaign is blasting the article, calling it, "Just another example of the sexism and slander that female candidates are forced to deal with."
Even John McCain's daughter Meghan is coming to O'Donnell's defense. Just weeks ago she said O'Donnell is seen as a "nut job," but she was outraged by the article. She wrote in her thedailybeast.com blog that it is "the pathetic rantings of an opportunistic, infantile frat boy [...] It is all unbelievably disgusting..."
The identity of "Anonymous" has been revealed. According to thesmokinggun.com, he's 28-year-old Dustin Dominiak, an auditor at the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia.
It's the latest drama for O'Donnell, who told Fox and Friends she's fed up with the rash of negative stories about her.
"All the national and international attention has actually been not good because my opponent and some not-so-friendly media have been trying to mischaracterize who I am," she said.
O'Donnell's opponent is also criticizing the story. Democrat Chris Coons called the anonymous post "cowardly."
