Good Samaritan Rescues Litter of Puppies That Were Abandoned On the Side of the Road

They took the pooches to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, where animal lovers are working to help the dogs make a full recovery.

A litter of puppies were rescued from near death after they were found abandoned in a box on the side of a Florida roadway.

The little pups were found by a Good Samaritan emaciated and suffering horribly from severe mange, a skin disease caused by parasites.

They took the pooches to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, where animal lovers are working to help the dogs make a full recovery.

Officials say the pups will need at between four and six weeks of intense and costly treatment to recover. 

“We are hopeful they will respond well and can’t wait to see what they look like after a couple of weeks in our care,” the Humane Society wrote on their Facebook page.

The group took to the social media site to share photos of the precious pups, which are believed to be a hound or beagle mix.
