In an emotional reunion, a 96-year-old woman met her 82-year-old daughter for the first time.

“My life is complete at this point,” said the mom, Lena Pierce.

“A lot of times, I worried about her, and wondered where she was,” she said.

Pierce was 14 years old when she gave birth to Eva May in 1933 in a Utica, New York, hospital.

“So many years ago…” she said.

Pierce bathed her and came to love her. But the state came in and told her she wasn’t old enough to have a baby.

Eva May was then adopted by a couple on Long Island, who renamed her Betty Morrell.

My adoptive mother died when I was 21. And my father died a few years later, so I’ve been on my own all this time,” said Morrell.

For years, she searched online records until she finally found her birth certificate and her mother’s name. That's when she learned her mom was still alive.

"I’ve been talking to her on the phone,” said Morrell.

Eighty-two years later, the two were finally reunited in January.
