Natalie Portman is taking on the role of Jackie Kennedy in Jackie, the highly-anticipated biopic that follows the First Lady's life immediately after the assassination of her husband, John F. Kennedy.
The Oscar winner was in Washington, D.C. filming a scene that recreated one of the saddest days in American history – JFK’s funeral.
Actor Peter Sarsgaard has assumed the role of Robert Kennedy for the movie, which filmed over the weekend in the U.S. capital.
D.C. police shut down a few streets over the weekend so filming could take place.
Fans filmed some of the action and posted it to Twitter:
Natalie Portman as Jackie. Sorry this is my only video. Can't ruin the movie. pic.twitter.com/3mMhgIQYdp— Richard Allen Cramer (@AllenCramer) February 29, 2016
Constitution Hall and the White House are also among filming locations for the production.
The film will premiere next year.
