Laura Lear came home to find found a monster at the bottom of her Lakeland pool–  a 300-pound gator.

“It's Mother Nature, it's a 300-pound animal, so he just busted through the screen and ended up in our pool,” she told INSIDE EDITION. “That's the kind of thing you see on the news, not in my backyard.”

She called Fish & Wildlife and a trapper rushed over to take the beast out of the pool.

“It was nerve-racking because now we've got this big open mouth of a gator hissing at you,” she said.

The alligator wandered over from a pond at a nearby golf course.

Lear is thankful that the trapper successfully removed the gator from her property.

“This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see a gator this close, and I hope to never have one in my backyard again,” she said.
