"Bling Ring" Member Confesses

One of the suspects in the so called "Hollywood Bling Ring" is confessing and trying to explain why he was part of an alleged ring targeting the homes of young Hollywood stars.  INSIDE EDITION has the story.

“I'm definitely sorry for what I've done.” It's a stunning confession from 19-year-old Nick Prugo, one of the so-called Hollywood "Bling Ring." They're the accused crooks cops say stole from celebrities like Audrina Patridge, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, and got away with $3 million worth of loot.

Prugo appeared on Good Morning America and explained how he went from a clean-cut teen to a brazen cat burglar.

“Definitely there was a thrill to it, but also these are people I trusted,” Prugo said. “They were my best friends and it was the peer pressure and I was trying to please them.”

“So your friends are saying let’s go out and rob all these houses?” asked George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America.

“It was a shared responsibility,” Prugo replied.

Prugo is also telling Vanity Fair magazine Paris Hilton was the first victim they targeted because she was "dumb." To prove his point, he says they even found a key under her doormat.

“Some of your former friends say you're a rat,” Stephanopoulos said.

“Well, I mean, they're gonna say what they're gonna say,” Prugo said.

And one of those former friends had her day in court. Rachel Lee is the alleged ringleader. She appeared in a Los Angeles court where she pled not guilty. Prugo pled not guilty back in September but has confessed to his crimes. He could end up spending up to six years in prison.

“I've just embarrassed my family and myself so much. I'm really sorry,” Prugo said.

$2 million of the $3 million in stolen goods has been recovered. A total of six people were arrested in connection with the heists, all have pled not guilty.
