Sharon Kay Turman, 51, was reportedly seen operating a 1994 Chrysler Town & County minivan painted like the cartoon car.

A California woman took police on a high-speed chase while operating a minivan that was painted to look like the Scooby Doo Mystery Mobile, cops say.

She is still at large.

Redding Police say Sharon Kay Turman, 51, was reportedly seen operating a 1994 Chrysler Town & County minivan painted like the cartoon car on Sunday afternoon after her probation officer contacted authorities regarding an alleged violation.

When authorities attempted to pull over the vivid blue-and-green minivan, they say Turman floored it and took them on a chase "well in excess of 100 miles per hour," officials said.

The pursuit began on surface streets and was discontinued by police as they say Turman approached an interstate while showing a total disregard for the safety of other motorists.

The pursuit picked back up after the California Highway Patrol was notified and dispatched a helicopter, according to a statement. A Shasta County Sheriff's Department cruiser also joined in the chase.

According to police, Turman managed to lose the sheriff's department cruiser. However, the CHP chopper continued the pursuit before police said they saw Turman finally abandon the vehicle.

The  vehicle was impounded. Turman's whereabouts are unknown.

Turman is wanted by the Redding Police Department and the Shasta County Probation Department. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Redding police  at (530) 225-4200 or Secret Witness of Shasta County at (530) 243-2319.
