"Formal is happening on April on the 1st," Mims sings to the tune of 'The Hanging Tree' from the third installment of The Hunger Games series. "If you'd be my date, in tears of joy I'd burst."

In his rendition, Mims makes references her roles in X-Men, Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, and of course, The Hunger Games.

"It's my senior year, so I figured, 'Why not ask a celebrity?'" Mims joked to InsideEdition.com. "I don't know her, obviously, but J. Law seems like a cool and quirky fun person to ask."

Mims said that if Lawrence accepts his proposal, the pair would go to the dinner and dance, and have some one-on-one time at the beach in Fort Lauderdale."It's basically a fun, relaxing weekend with the fraternity," he said.
