Cops: Family Returns From Vacation To Find Burglar Living in Their Home, Wearing Their Clothes

Make yourself at home: burglar takes over house and sets up residence while family is away, police said.

A Pennsylvannia family returned from a weekend away to find a burglar homesteading in their house, police said. 

Zachary Jock, 21, was held without incident by the homeowner until officers came to arrest him, according to Columbia Borough Police, the Lebanon Daily News reported.

Jock had been living in the house for two days and was wearing the residents’ clothes and had rearranged their furniture, police said.

A backpack crammed with items belonging to family members was found by officers, as well as pills alcohol and cigarettes that didn’t belong to anyone in the family, police said.

The man had been living on the first floor of the home, and had eaten the family’s food, cops said. He also is accused of throwing knives into the ceiling, causing more the $1,000 in damage.

He was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and is being held at the Lancaster County jail on $25,000 bail, police said.

It was not clear whether he had entered a plea.
