Sarah Palin pulls no punches in her new book, this time slamming First Lady Michelle Obama. INSIDE EDITION reports on the growing controversy.
Sarah Palin slams Michelle Obama in a racially charged passage from her new book, America By Heart.
She accuses the First Lady of believing, "America is a fundamentally unjust and unequal country."
She's referring to a 2008 campaign stop by Obama where they First Lady declared, "for the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country."
"She said she had never felt proud of her country until her husband started winning elections," Palin writes.
And she takes both the President and First Lady to task over their long time association with fiery preacher Jeremiah Wright.
Palin writes that, "Both of them spent almost two decades in the pews of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church listening to his rants against America and white people."
The Obamas publicly broke with Wright during the 2008 election campaign.
Palin also takes aim at another target, American Idol, of all things. She says the President is partially to blame for this.
She says bad singing is a symptom of what's wrong with America today.
American Idol contestants who embarrass themselves with awful singing, she writes, are, "victims of the cult of self-esteem. No-one they encountered in their lives, from their parents to their teachers to the President, wanted them to feel bad by hearing the truth."
American Idol Producer Nigel Lythgoe appearing on The View, says Palin is way off-key.
"I guess she wrote that before her own daughter showed her lack of talent as a dancer on Dancing with the Stars," Lythgoe said.
Palin defends Bristol, writing, "she worked as hard as any young single mother could possibly work."
She blasts Levi Johnston for being a no-show at the birth of his own child with Bristol.
"The new father wasn't there until the end of Bristol's labor. I helped deliver Tripp," she writes.
But now, Palin is complaining passages from the book are being taken out of context. She tweeted:
The publishing world in LEAKING out of context excerpts from my book without permission? Isn't that illegal?
