A third suspect in the Brussels airport attack last month was arrested in Belgium on Friday, according to officials.
The suspect, Mohamed Abrini, 31, became known as the “Man in the Hat” after video emerged of him at a gas station outside of Paris. He is also a suspect in the November Paris attacks, reports the New York Post.
He was caught with several other suspects, according to officials.
Brussels prosecutors issued a statement earlier, confirming that they’d made arrests, and that more details would be released later in the day.
“The federal prosecutors office confirms that there were several arrests during the day in connection with the attacks at the national airport (Zaventem) and Brussels (Maelbeek metro),” the statement said.
Citing anonymous sources, Belgian broadcaster, VRT, reported that Abrini was among those arrested. According to Fox News, one of the other arrested suspects was a Swedish national named Osama K.
He had ties to Abdelhamid Abbaoud, the leader of the Paris attacks. Abbaoud died in a police standoff.
