Florida police say gummy worms handed out by a high school student were laced with THC.
Four Florida high school students were hospitalized after eating candy that was laced with drugs, police said.
Gulfport cops said the trouble started when gummy worms were handed out by a student at Boca Ciega High. The candy was laced with THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, authorities said.
Seven students possessed the drugged candy, police said Monday in a statement.

Police say one student brought the gummies to school and gave them to two other students, who in turn handed them to four more high schoolers.
Two of the students went to the school's clinic, saying they felt ill after eating the candy.

Police confiscated one of the gummies amd said was oily and smelled strongly of marijuana.
In a statement obtained by InsideEdition.com, Pinellas County Schools said the school is investigating the incident and working with the Gulfport Police Department.
On Tuesday afternoon, Gulfport Police released an update on the investigation that said two students were arrested with a third arrest pending.
