Philbin told reporters that he has not spoken to Ripa about the debacle at Live! following Michael Strahan's announcement that he will be leaving for GMA.

But he still had an opinion on the reported fallout.

“They should have told her in the beginning,” he said.

Philbin and Ripa worked together for 10 years before he left the show.

But the TV icon thinks the problems between his former co-host and Michael Strahan will ultimately work themselves out.

“She's got a bunch of people that she likes,” he told cameramen.

According to the New York Post, Ripa and Strahan "did not get along." A source close to her told the newspaper: "They could not stand each other, and whenever they communicated off-camera, it was always through their reps."

On Thursday, cameras spotted Ripa leaving her Manhattan townhouse with husband Mark Consuelos. They were supposed to be headed on a trip with their three children to Turks and Caicos.
