Mark Madoff's Widow Speaks Out

While no funeral service has been held for Mark Madoff, his widow speaks out for the first time, and confirms that he has been cremated. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

The widow of Mark Madoff, who hanged himself in shame on the 2nd anniversary of his father's arrest, is speaking out for the first time.

Stephanie Madoff says she is devastated by her husband's suicide.

"Regardless of what you feel about my father-in-law and his monstrous crimes, Mark's children are innocent victims and this is tragic for them." She said in a statement. "I will miss and love him forever."

She said she plans a private memorial service later this week. She also confirmed the 46-year-old Madoff has been cremated.

Mark Madoff's body was taken from the city morgue yesterday and brought to a funeral home in Manhattan. We're told no friends or family members accompanied the body or paid their last respects. There was no funeral service, and Madoff's body was taken to a cemetery to be cremated.

A source said there was no-one there to mourn Madoff, saying, "No Madoff is coming anywhere near the body. Not one Madoff family member, not even a friend coming to visit the body. Nothing."

The New York Post was scathing, asking: "What Kind of Family is This?"

Madoff hanged himself Saturday with his dog's leash.
