Swift Justice: Taylor/Kim/Kanye Feud Heats Up as Pop Princess Threatens Legal Action

The fight stemming from a recorded phone call with Taylor Swift has escalated.

Taylor Swift is threatening Kanye West with criminal prosecution after the rapper’s wife, Kim Kardashian, leaked video of him secretly recording a conversation with the "Bad Blood" singer.

According to TMZ, Swift’s lawyers have sent a letter to West’s legal team saying: “Demand is hereby made that you immediately destroy all such recordings, provide us of assurance that this has been done, and also assurance that these recordings have not been previously disseminated.”

Swift said the couple is committing “character assassination” after the footage leaked, and has condemned the rapper for allegedly not telling the whole story.

On Sunday night, Kardashian took to Snapchat and posted a phone recording that West had with Swift while he was making the song “Famous” for his album, The Life of Pablo.

With Kardashian and record producer Rick Rubin next to him, West told Swift over the phone: "To all my Southside n***** that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex."

Swift said: "I know, I mean it's like a compliment, kind of."

The line that appears on the final version of the song is “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that bitch famous.”

In a lengthy post to Instagram Monday morning, Swift wrote: “Where in the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me 'that bitch' in his song? It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world … While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard.”

In the video leak, West asked her permission to use the line in the song, saying: “All I give a s*** about is you as a person and as a friend, I want things that make you feel good.”

“That’s sweet,” Swift replied. "Yeah, I mean go with whatever line you think is better. It's obviously very tongue-in-cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that's really nice."

Kardashian says she released the video to prove that West had gotten the “Shake It Off” singer’s approval to allow it in the song.

After the song’s release in February, Swift denied giving the “Power” rapper approval.

In a June interview with GQ, Kardashian claimed the contrary.

“She totally knew that was coming out,” Kardashian told the men’s magazine. “She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t.”

Following the release of the GQ interview, Swift’s lawyers said: “Taylor heard [‘Famous’] for the first time when everyone else did and was humiliated.”
